Title: Joy Through God's Provision (8)
Series: Philippians
Author: Josh Malone
Text: Philippians 4:10-23
- Happy New Year-I celebrated the New Year's Day in style with a long drive from Alabama. I didn't have any black eyed peas, but I did eat some bugles. --- I'm happy to be back here in Orlando where it is so sunny and warm (most the time) and back worshipping with you guys.
- This morning we are wrapping up our study in Philippians and we are going to be looking at two important themes... contentment and generosity and they are tied to a mega theme of God's provision. God's provision makes it possible to live content and generous lives.
- It's my hope this morning as we land the plan in Philippians, this book teeming with joy written by Apostle Paul from jail, that you will discover the joy of trusting in God's provision in your life.
- God wants you to be free in 2016 to live contently and generously. That has nothing to do with being rich. It has everything to do with your relationship with Christ.
- What would your 2016 look like if you were so convinced of God's provision that you lived a CONTENT and GENEROUS LIFE? What would North Park look like?
- Contentment and generosity played key roles in Paul's advancement of the gospel... and I believe it does in our as well.
- My recent prayer... God help me to be content with your provision and to be a generous steward of your gifts.
- As Paul comes to the end of the letter he begins to focus on his thankfulness for the gift the Philippians had given him. Through the Philippians God had showed himself as a faithful provider. Paul is rejoicing at the provision God has provided through them.
