Last week, we began this series speaking about the BIBLE and how it was living, effective, and sharp book that was special, sound, and speaks to the soul. It is at the 'soul' level where Jesus speaks and where lives change. The Bible speaks truth and tells us to speak truth in love. Candidly, we either have truth or experience consequences.

In 1994 (don't miss that year), Josh McDowell released a book entitled, "Right from Wrong" warning of this coming 'truth problem.' The Subtitle is, "New Study Reveals a Majority of churched youth can no longer determine right from wrong" and the book reveals some 'TRUTHS' about culture which, if anything, have grown in 30 years. Chapter 1 is entitled, "A Generation in Crisis" - that generation has now raised a new generation which, in large measure, is in turmoil. This book was not written about lost and unchurched people, it was written about church people who claim Christ as Lord.

Chapter 2 is entitled, "Truth Matters" and goes on to show 'statistically' how the church is following the world instead of the other way around. Now, it's not just youth (Students) that doubt truth, but that generation (and beyond) have grown up not believing there is a "REAL, AUTHENTIC, and OBJECTIVE" truth for everyone.

Realize that this was written 30 years ago and at that time says when a person doesn't believe in absolute truth these things happen: 32% will lie to parents, 48 % will cheat on exams, 2 times more are likely to try to physically hurt someone, get drunk, use illegal drugs, or attempt suicide. People (all ) who do not believe in absolute truth have no moral compass because there is nothing to stop being immoral.

As I dug into this problem and looked at the scripture, I just wanted to cry for our Students who are trying to survive in this world. The world is upside down.
