- Friends, this world is not merely coming to an end ... God is going to make all things new. - God is going create a NH & Earth for His people to dwell in forever.

- When a believer dies they go to be with God.

2 Cor. 5:8- "Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord."

- They don't merely go to sleep for a while. While there is much we don't know about Heaven, we can say this ... to be away from the body is to be at home with the Lord. The believer dies and immediately goes to be in God's glorious presence.

- But at the end of time as we know it ... God is going to create a NH & E. - Reality as we know it ... will be different. It'll be a "new" place where the "former things" have passed away.

- In Rev. 21 John describes to us this vision he sees of the NH & E and the New Jerusalem.

- We will see today what the future holds. In the future all things will be made new and this new reality for God's people is about God's presence, His plan, His grace, and His glory.


A NEW WORLD

Rev. 21:1-27 - Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

- Here we see a NH and NE ... why? The first ones had passed away.
