Title: The Return of Jesus Christ (20)
Series The Book of Revelation
Author: Josh Malone
Text: Rev. 19:6-21
- Jesus Christ is coming back! - I know we are months into Revelation and you were wondering ... WHEN?! - Here we are. Today, in Revelation 19 we are at the return of Christ.
- Jesus will return LITERALLY not FIGURATIVELY. He will return BODILY not simply SPIRITUALLY. He will return OBVIOUSLY not simply SECRETLY. It will be a literal, bodily, obvious, and sudden return.
- In His first advent Jesus came to RESCUE. He's coming back to RULE.
- He came the first time to die for sinners. He will return to judge sinners.
- He came to live a righteous life in our place. He will return to execute righteous judgment.
- He came the first time so we can have new hearts. He's coming back to make things new.
- Jesus's return is a COMFORT for His people ... and it is a WARNING to repent for the rest of the world. - People need to know Him as SAVIOR and submit to Him as LORD ... before they face Him as JUDGE.
- Today we will see Jesus Christ will return like a groom for His bride and like a King coming to conquer, therefore we need to be expectant, prepared, and confident in the Lord.
Rev. 19:6-21 - 6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; 8 it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure"- for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
9 And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God." 10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant ...
