- Today we are back in Revelation! - We are in maybe the most anticipated chapter. There is no part of Revelation that probably stirs more curiosity than Revelation 13.
- Of all the discussion around end times there probably is the most around the figure of the ANTI-CHRIST. - People debate who he will be, where he will come from, etc.
ILLUS. - Recently I drove to south Alabama to do a wedding. - Somewhere on the journey I stopped for snacks and gas, and when I got my snacks the total came to $6.66 cents. The lady was not letting me leave with that total. It weirded her out. So she asked if she could round me up to charity, and I said sure. - People are weirded out by this stuff.
- Who are these beasts of Rev. 13? Are they individuals or corporate entities? Revelation will later tell us the second bast is the FALSE PROPHET. What does that mean? What about this first beast, is it the ANTI-CHRIST?
- I think you'll see we can TYPES of these two beasts in the first century. But there is an ultimate beast of the sea and beast of the earth to come. There are ways I think we see types of these at works in the world throughout history. But the ultimate fulfillment is to come.
- Today, we will see ultimately the first beast is a SATANIC POLITICAL POWER that will be worshipped as he declares war on the saints, but he is limited and will be ultimately defeated. - Next week we will look at the False Prophet.
