1.1 Once you've experienced Jesus you'd want to know more about Him and even follow Him.
A) Jesus is experienced when you witness His divine traits like grace and mercy; and His miracles and ability to yield breakthroughs.
1. Breakthroughs occur in every field including business, art, science, medicine, and even economy.
2. The advent of microlending and the breakthroughs it brought in helping establish economic equity among the poor earned Muhammad Yunus a Nobel Peace prize in 2006.
3. Breakthroughs are sudden, but seldom accidental. Intentional steps trigger breakthroughs even in spiritual things.
i. When David became Israel 2nd king, the Philistines sought to kill him. David needed a breakthrough.
ii. David knew enough that you should not enter a battle without first inquiring of the Lord.
2 Samuel 5:19-20 (AMP)-19 David inquired of the Lord, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You hand them over to me?" And the Lord said to David, "Go up, for I will certainly hand them over to you." 20 So David came to Baal-perazim, and he defeated them there, and said, "The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water." So he named that place Baal-perazim (master of breakthroughs).
B) God is introduced as the "God of the breakthroughs."
1. This particular name of God sets a clear expectation that we can look to Him to experience all types of breakthroughs.
2. Do you need a breakthrough? What kind of breakthrough-personal or professional? Maybe both?
i. A breakthrough is a sudden, dramatic, and important discovery or development.
