- I don't know if you've noticed ... but it's already political season. Aren't you ready for the commercials? The debates? It seems now we live in a constant state of political season.

- You know Revelation is a pretty political book. - It shows us who ultimately governs all things ... declares how the governments of this world are going to come to an end ... who the real King is and how He will reign forever.

- Politicians have a plan ... they want to bring that plan to bear on a nation, a state, etc. - Some are more successful at that than others, but they all have that goal. - But politicians and their goals fail. They aren't perfect, they are fallible.

- BUT ... there is a purpose and a plan ... that will not fail. - The future of the world is not up for debate and the King of Kings is not up for election.

- God has a purpose, a plan for this world. - This world has a certain future. - The kingdoms of this earth will pass away and God's Kingdom and His promises, His purposes ... will prevail forever. - But how? When? - Who?

- There is no King, no President, no leader, no politician, no personality on this earth ... that can bring God's purposes and His plans to bear on this world. - God's plans, His purposes will prevail ... and only ONE is WORTHY to execute that. - That's what today is about.

- Last week in Revelation 4 John told us about a VISION of the heavenly throne room. - Now, chapter 5 has more of that. Today, the focus is on a SCROLL, and a LAMB.

Rev. 5:1-14 - Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?" 3 And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, 4 and I beg ...
