Have you ever been depressed? Two chief occupational hazards:

1. Depression

2. Discouragement

A noted psychologist once said, "Depression is a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness that leads to sadness."

No one is immune.

Prayer of Moses -

Numbers 11:15: "And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness."

Prayer of Elijah - ''I've had it!"

I Kings 19:4: "But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, 0 Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers."

Prayer of Jonah - "Stop this crazy world and let me off!"
Jonah 4:3: "Therefore now, 0 Lord, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live."

D. L. Moody - One of the great preachers who ever lived battled depression.

These were men who loved God. They had been greatly blessed of God. NO ONE IS IMMUNE!

1. Physically worn out.

All three had physiological problems. They all three were worn out to a frazzle.

Moses
Numbers 11:11: "And Moses said unto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favor in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?"

People were complaining.

Egypt to Canaan - Everywhere the people traveled -- they complained to and about Moses.
Members of the First Baptist Church of the Wilderness were 2 1/2 million strong and yet they found fault with pastor Moses at every turn.
