Now today we are going to start a new collection of sermons in the Book of James.

I love this book b/c I love how direct it is.

It is a book that will get in your business and call you up.

It is a coach's book!!!

A book that calls you up in your faith. A book that does not allow you to sit and soak but to accept and press on

It is a challenging book and a fun book to read and go through.

Now as we get into it let's get a clear understanding of James real quick to be sure we know which James we are talking about.

This is James the ½ brother of Jesus

Why ½ Brother? Because they have different Dads

Could you imagine being one of the 4 Brothers or 2 Sisters of Jesus.

Growing up trying to throw blame at Jesus - Mary - No way Jesus did that. He is the son of God

Be would be so frustrating growing up with Him.

We know that the Gospels tell us that "Even his own brothers did not believe in Him - John 7:5

Matthew 12:46-50 says [NIV] 46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you."

48 He replied to him, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

Mark adds to this in Mark 3:21 [NIV] When his family[a] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."
