The other day, Deb received a text from our son with a video attached of our little man, Caffrey, sitting on the couch and singing his heart out - and doing a really good job. You see, Caffrey (10) has discovered that he loves to sing. He does community theatre, but more than that he loves praise music. In fact, the last time our other grands were here, we sang one of their favorite praise songs and they stood on the back row with Deboria, and she discovered they loved to and could really sing.

Discovery is a wonderful thing. It's finding out something new. This is exactly what the life of following Jesus is about. 2 Corinthians 5:17 reads, "If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" So we begin a new journey when we receive Christ. But also, our walk with Christ also continues to be new. Lam. 3 says, "Because of the Lord's faithful love we do not perish for His mercies never end. They are new every morning, GREAT is your faithfulness." By the way, the discoveries know no end. We are given a new life, walk, talk, purpose, heart, and home, everything with the Lord is new. (us OLDER people, need to be reminded).

Now to the 2nd chapter of 1 Peter. The first word is "Therefore." (Other words are, 'putting away', wherefore, or SO) In other words, 'because of the truth that you have been born again of imperishable seed (salvation), you can live and walk in the hope of Jesus and thus, live and walk as HOLY - because of all those things, hear/heed this. And what follows is a picture of the NEW YOU! For me, this borders on discovery. Consider this, "How to discover this new you." Four actions - any one is a message.
