It was back in the early 90s that a movie came out that quickly became a blockbuster hit. It was with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson. It was titled, "A Few Good Men." And many of us are familiar with that movie. It had a climax scene. It was a military movie. It was also a courtroom drama. And the climax scene was when Tom Cruise's character, who played the defense attorney, gets Jack Nicholson, who played Colonel Nathan R. Jessup, on the witness stand, and Cruise demands to know the truth. And Jack Nicholson says that famous line, "You can't handle the truth."

Now, we live in a world today where people can't handle the truth. The statement is surely valid. Truth is hate to those who hate the truth. And we live in a world today where people can't handle the truth. They don't want the truth. It's exactly what the Scripture says would happen, Second Timothy chapter 4, where Paul told his young protégé, Timothy, his true child in the faith, "Hey, the time is going to come where men will not endure sound doctrine. They're going to want to have their ears tickled, and they'll turn aside from the truth and turn to myths." Well, what do we do in a world like that? We speak the truth in love. We continue to be salt and light. We continue to shine and share. And we tell people the truth, because unless you know the truth, you'll never be set free.

Well, we're in a series called "The Truth About..." And today is sermon number four in this series. We've talked about the truth about the Bible. We've talked about the truth concerning who Jesus is. We've talked last week, the truth concerning the Christian in the world. How is a Christian to interact in this world?
