Title: The Resurrection Factor
Author: Jeff Schreve
Text: Luke 24:33
We thank You, Lord, that we can gather today to rejoice an empty tomb and a Savior who conquered, and a Savior who's coming back again in power and great glory. Lord, we don't know when You're going to return. You've told us just to be ready. And You have said, "In an hour when you think not, the Son of man comes." And so, Lord, I pray that we would just live on ready. And we can't wait for that day when You break through the clouds and come again. And, God, until that time, help us to be the people You want us to be. And bless today as we study Your Word. And thank You for this day. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen.
If you have your Bible, please turn to Luke, chapter 24. I want to talk to you today about "The Resurrection Factor."
Now, we all know that today is Easter Sunday. Now, if you didn't know that today was Easter Sunday, you would just look around and say, "Something's up! There are a lot more people here today. I think it's Easter." And not only our church, but other churches all over are filled with people on Easter. You know, Easter is a time of celebration. It's a time of worship. It's a time for food and festivities and family. For so many people, it's a day on the calendar, a one-day a year, where you celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But it's really not like that for the believer. Why? Because it was one day in history in April in 33, A.D. that Jesus Christ yawned and stretched and rose again from the dead. And because of that one day, it changes every day for all eternity - the day that Jesus rose from the dead. We've been calling this the weekend that changed the world. Because of Good Friday, Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, and then, Easter Sunday when He rose again from the dead, that is the weekend that changed the world. It changes everything!
Now, lots of people, they know about Easter. They know facts and ...
