Text: Revelation 22:1-7

Do you remember this? (Video Clip of T2T "Home"). This video makes me glad and sad at the same time. I am glad that someone has stepped up to help those who gave their all for our freedom, but I am sad that someone had to step up because our country stepped back. That said, these vets and other understand "HOME" and all it brings. Those words should ring in our hearts, "Comfort, Worthy of Protection, Something to be proud of, "HOME." These guys are getting homes built JUST FOR THEM, to their needs, specifications, and comfort. That sounds good! HOME!

All through the Bible the Jewish people were displaced. First to Egypt, then after God finally got them to the Land He'd Promise, their sin caused them to be displaced. After Stephen's stoning, in Acts 8, once again they were displaced. Every time they were scattered, they "LONGED FOR HOME" They missed the homeland. Yes, they told people about Jesus, but they longed to go back to THEIR HOME. HOME!

As I have thought about this, for the person who has placed their faith, life, and hope in Jesus, we find ourselves strangers, pilgrims, and sojourners here. Looking for HOME! This means we may enjoy a few things here, deep inside we know that 'this world is not our home,' 'we are wayfaring strangers,' we're citizens of a foreign land, and we're not home. And now, we are reading about and hearing about "HOME."

This week and next week, we'll envision the last chapter, hear the final word, and see our eternal HOME. Let's read the first 7 verses of Revelation 22. (READ TEXT)
