Have you ever looked back in life, maybe your childhood even, and later understood what God was doing in your past to prepare you for the future?

That happened to me. Story of my mom being an activity director at an elder care facility while I was in Jr. High. Taking a guitar in and playing, singing from room to room. I recognized later that God was developing in me a love for people (and preparing me to pastor people)...probably brutal for those poor old people though with my song selection! Old Neil Young songs etc...

I'm not sure when I fully realized that I just loved people. I looked forward to school each year to seeing old friends but super anticipating meeting the new kids coming in. I always felt bad for the marginalized, the picked on ones etc...

The truth is that all people have been created in the image of God. And you have never encountered anyone that wasn't valued by God

Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)

27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Job 12:10 (ESV)

10 In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.
In the book of James concerning the tongue it says;

James 3:9 (ESV)

9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.

Consider that the next time someone pulls out in front of you right?

There has been a spiritual war over people since sin and the curse came to earth...because people were created in the image of God, to walk with God, worship God, serve God and partner with Him.

The fall didn't remove the image of God...but it ruptured it, disfigured it, distorted and brought a mutilation if you will.

The curse of sin also brought a war between people that God creat ...
