Title: How God Leads Us (13)
Series: Acts
Author: Collin Wimberly
Text: Acts 15:36-16:15
CIT - God directs Paul on his second missionary journey in order to send him to Philippi to preach the Gospel.
Proposition - God directs us so that we can accomplish His will.
Question: How does God direct us? How does He lead us?
INTRODUCTION:
Old Gospel Song - God leads his dear children along. I remember another wonderful hymn, He leadeth me, Oh blessed thought, oh words with heavenly comfort fraught. Whate'er I do, wherer' I go, still tis God's hand that leadeth me.
Psalm 37:23 - The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.

I) GOD DIRECTS US THROUGH CONFLICT - 15:36-40

But they have a disagreement. Vs. 39 calls it a sharp disagreement. The word describes a major problem. This was not a quiet, gentlemanly disagreement. No, they were passionate.
What happened?
Acts 13:13 tells us that John Mark had accompanied them to Cyprus, but did chose not to go on with them to Antioch, but went home to Jerusalem. To Paul, this must have seemed like a betrayal of their call. He didn't feel confident in John Mark, he probably felt that he would desert them again when the going got tough.
Barnabas, whom Colossians 4:10 tells us was John Mark's cousin, wanted to give the young man a second chance.
Who was right?
Our hearts go with Barnabas, but our minds with Paul. Most scholars think Barnabas should listened to Paul in submission t ...
