Text: Acts 6:5-15
CIT- Stephen, full of the Spirit, was martyred for his faith.
Proposition- Christians today need to live everyday, as if it were their last day.
INTRODUCTION:
What if you knew that you had only 24 hours to live? What would you do?
Spend the whole day laying in the bed eating Cheetos? .
Would you spend 10 hours binge watching the office?
Probably not.
What would you do? To be honest, we probably don't know.
I read an interesting quote the other day I - Live every day as if it were your last day.
The Bible teaches something of the same thing. "So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12 NKJV) We need to realize that none of us will live forever, someday, we will live our last day. And we have no idea when that day may come. You may live to be 100, go to bed one night, and drift off into eternity painlessly.
You may get hit by a speeding car on the way home today. You might live to be 80, then again we are promised anything, you may not make it through the week.
I don't' think we ought to be morbid or always thinking about death. But part of wisdom is knowing that we don't know how much time we have. Therefore, we need to live every day as if it just might be our last. Live without reget. Live with abandon and devotion to Christ. Live large as witness of the Gospel.
Our passage this morning is about a man who live his best day on his last day. Now, it wasn't an easy day. In fact, the way he died is horrible. But when my last day comes, I want to live it just as Stephen did.

Speak every day as the Spirit leads you.
