INTRODUCTION: One of the keys to leadership is positive consistency in all areas and aspects. I've learned that leadership is not a one-time event, but something that's done on a daily basis. Successful leaders apply leadership principles to everything they do, because they know their decisions will have an impact on not just themselves, but those they are leading.

When the leader displays a pattern of positive leadership, it becomes easy for the followers to get behind him or her and follow. I've said before that the leader who has no one following is only out taking a walk.

Jesus, being the greatest leader, was indeed consistent in all things He did, but the most profound, I believe, is the fact that He consistently did NOT sin, and was consistent in being the example we need to live a committed Christian life. He had compassion and empathy on the broken and downtrodden, and was very firm with those who opposed His work and ministry. Through it all, and knowing He had the power of heaven behind Him, even when they tried to kill Him, He was the one who laid down His life for you and for me. His life was consistent; His message was consistent; His ministry was consistent; and His leadership was consistent. I think it would be a very good idea for us to take Leadership Lessons from the Greatest Leader.


POINTS:

A Leader Keeps His/Her Word. A leader is in a position whereby when he or she speaks, the people who depend on them are expecting the leader to follow through with what they've said. If a leader does not, they begin to lose credibility with their followers.
