The Source of Temptation (3 of 5)

James 1:13-17
Introduction
Have you ever done something wrong and you blamed it on someone else. When I was growing up, my brother and I passed things we had done wrong off on each other all the time. We live in a no fault society today. Nothing is truly anyone's fault.
Homosexuals pass their lifestyle off and say they were born that way, when scientific evidence proves them wrong. People constantly blame the things they do on the society, environment or family up bringing. You hardly ever hear someone say, "I am this way because I choose to live this way." People that smoked cigarettes for years blame the tobacco companies for their problems and win million dollar lawsuits. In California, a kid whose life is in bad shape can sue their parents because their parents should have aborted them, instead of bringing them into this world.
That is the problem with Christians as well. They have taking on the societies explanations for their problems. When Christians need to step up to the plate and say, "I have sinned and I am wrong and I ask God's forgiveness." They blame it on some sort of dysfunction or something else. Of course it is all just saying, "The devil made me do it."
This is not a new phenomenon that has popped up in the past 5-10 years. This goes back to the Garden of Eden. God comes to Adam and Adam says she made me do it. Eve says, the snake made me do it. The problem is that we do not want to take personal responsibilities for our actions.
Hence we have this command from James not to blame God for our temptation. The word temptation here is the same word that is translated trials in the first 12 verses of the chapter.
The fact of the matter is that every person is going to be tempted at some point and time. The question comes, how are we going to handle that temptation so that, we are approved by God?
Are we going to handle it the way we are suppose to handle it a ...
