Today we're talking about the secrets of sacrificial giving.

Maybe you're here today and you're already wondering, "Why do we have to talk about money?" Well, let me tell you... The reason we periodically talk about money in the church... is because Jesus, himself... talked so much about money.

15% of everything Jesus said in the Bible had something to do with money or possessions. That's more than He talked about heaven and hell, combined.

Out of the 38 parables of Christ-16 of them had to do with money and possessions.
In the Bible, we see the word "BELIEVE" 272 times... we see the word "PRAY" 371 times... we see the word "LOVE" 714 times... But you know what? ...we see the word "GIVE" 2,161 times.

You know what that tells me? It tells me that the primary action verb in the word of God... is the word: GIVE. And if you know the Lord today... I believe it's important for you to understand... that God expects you to LIVE generously... and He has called you to GIVE... both cheerfully and sacrificially.

That's what we read in [2 Corinthians 9:6-7] The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each person should do as he has decided in his heart-not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.

Here's what Paul just said: Your giving will determine your receiving. Do you see it? You say, 'That sounds like some prosperity gospel mumbo jumbo.' And I get that... but I honestly can't think of a better way to say it. God's word plainly says... God LOVES it when we GIVE, cheerfully... and generously... and sacrificially... and not only does God LOVE that kind of giving... He BLESSES that kind of giving.
