In the Beginning

Primary Scripture: Genesis 4:16-5:3
Now, if you have your Bible, turn to Genesis chapter 4. We're going finish Genesis chapter 4, and we're going to finish our discussion on Cain. This is our third sermon that has to do with Cain, but Cain is a very important character in the Bible. He is mentioned 3 times, as I told you, mentioned 3 times in the New Testament, and he was the firstborn son, from what we gather in Scripture, firstborn son of Adam and Eve. But if you're in a building in downtown Houston, it's a different story. When I was working water treatment, I had the tallest building downtown. It was, at that time, Texas Commerce Tower, and it was 75 floors. So, you get on the wrong elevator, and you want to go down, and you're going up, you're going to be on that thing for a while. And so, that can be irritating, especially if you're in a hurry and you get on the wrong one and you're needing to go down and you go up, or you're needing to go up and you're going down.
Now, how about in life? If it's bad in a tall building, it's so much worse in life. If you get on the elevator of life, so to speak, and you're not going up, but you're going down, you know, Jesus said there are two ways to go. There's the narrow road that leads to ...
