Leading up to Easter, I wanted to do a short series on the Ark in Genesis…

You may wonder “what’s that got to do with Easter”, but the Ark is not only a reality biblically, but also a type and shadow of salvation provided by God again…in the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus that we will be celebrating next week!

Archeologists record that most every great civilization recorded a story about a cataclysmic flood event. That time is spoken of more than once or twice in the New Testament and;

Jesus referred to and confirmed it as well.

Matthew 24:37 (NKJV)
37But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

(besides, I’ve alway loved boats!)

I wonder if my love for boats was because of the story of Noah building the Ark….

And maybe I love the story because it’s one of those you learn early in

So let’s go! We are going to talk about evil, God’s judgement, favor, boats and resurrection for a couple weeks!

Genesis 5:29 (NASB95)
29Now he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands arising from the ground which the Lord has cursed.”

First of all, Noah is a farmer. Noah=rest/comfort
Such a prophetic name declaration! (Only thing that brings rest is salvation)

Fitting as the days of Noah were terrible…
