Have you ever had to completely adjust your life to a different way of thinking?

Anyone married?

Which side of the bed you sleep on?

Do you roll the toothpaste or just squeeze it?

Do you wash dishes every day or leave them for once a week?

Do you fold up the blankets after you use them or just leave them?

Do you put up your shoes or leave them out to wear the next day?

New Parent:

The Kid will not adjust to you... you must adjust to the kid being in the house

Sleep

Eat

Schedule

Or how about taking a new job?

You can't go into a new job and tell them how they need to adjust to you. You have to fit their culture.

Adjusting to a new life is not always easy...

When you are adjusting you are changing and change is never fun.

Yet, in our walk with Christ... When we surrender our lives to the Lord we are saying.. "God we are choosing to follow your ways and not our own"

You are not asking God to adjust himself to you but you to adjust your life to follow Him!

A Surrendered Life is adjusting your life to God's ways not expecting God to change his ways to fit your life.

It is like Thomas Jefferson....

He professed "Christianism," which was a belief in the morals taught by Jesus of Nazareth, but he rejected Jesus's divinity, resurrection, atonement, and biblical miracles

That is why in his "Bible" he wrote...

Jefferson's condensed composition excludes all miracles by Jesus and most mentions of the supernatural, including sections of the four gospels that contain the Resurrection and most other miracles, and passages that portray Jesus as divine

He did not want to adjust himself to the ways of God but wanted God to adjust to his ways.

How many times do we do that in our own lives...

We want God to come through for us but we don't live surre ...
