If you have your Bible, please turn to Matthew chapter 1, the middle part of chapter 1, and we'll be in chapter 2. We are concluding this series, "The Three Gifts of Christmas" today, and that's been our Christmas series. We are very familiar with the three gifts of Christmas that the wise men bought - gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Many of us have learned those from the time we were little. You don't even have to be in church to know about the gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. But many times, we don't really understand those gifts very well. And so, in this series, we have been breaking down what these gifts mean. You know, you can think you know something, but you don't really know it. I heard about a mom and dad. They were with their two kids, little kids at church at Christmastime, and they were singing "Silent Night." And the sister was older than the brother, and the brother is singing. And, he gets to the end, and he's singing, "Sleep in heavenly beans." And she hears that, and she kind of hits him, and she goes, "It's not beans; it's peas!" She thought she had it right, but she didn't have it right. And so, you know, we think about the fact that the wise men brought to Jesus, Matthew 2:11. It says, "And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh." Now, we know about gold, and we know that they were there. "We saw His star in the east. We've come. Where is He who is born King of the Jews, for we saw His star in the east and come to worship Him?" And so, we know in Matthew 2, these are Persian kingmakers coming from afar, probably in the area of Babylon, and they're coming a long, long way, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles, and they're coming to worship the Ki ...
