As we move into this new season & New Year many of you have joined us in our 21 days of prayer and fasting. (if you didn't get a book, we have some for you).

In the last few weeks we have had a number of people profess Christ and believe for the first time. The bible would say that they have "come alive" in Christ. And now are on a journey of relationship with God

Ephesians 2:4-5 (NKJV)

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

One of the most important things to do after you "come alive" is to learn how to communicate with God. Talk with God. Prayer is communicating with God, conversing with God. There is an exchange of communication and beyond that...a relational impartation that changes us...

"A godly man is a praying man. As soon as grace is poured in, prayer is poured out. Prayer is the soul's traffic with Heaven; God comes down to us by His Spirit, and we go up to Him by prayer." - Thomas Watson

Communication is essential for relationship. I don't know of a relationship that can thrive without communication.

In fact, if you have a relationship with someone and find that there is not communication...you begin to question what is wrong! (If my wife becomes silent...)

Prayer is a key to relationship with God and relationship with God is a key to answered prayer!

Makes me think about phone calls or texts I receive...the ones I really pay attention to and respond to are ones that have relational currency right? My wife calls or texts and I respond quicker because there is a priority because of relationship.

Our responses are usually prioritized by the relationship we have right?
