Author: Marvin Patterson
Text: Matthew 2:1-13

These wise men traveled for two years to get to the young child Jesus, and when they got to the area, the star that they had been following vanished, and they were in trouble, not knowing where to go from here! This all happened when Herod was the King of the Jews! Herod was a wicked, jealous man, who literally killed a wife and a son whom he thought would be a threat to his throne! In was to this context that the wise men came! There may have been more than three wise men, but there were at least three because of the gifts that were given!
