Man went for regular check-up. Based on his test results, the doctor gave him some prudent advice. Few weeks later, the doctor saw the man out running with a woman half his age. He said, "Doc, I'm doing what you told me. Be cheerful, and get a hot mama." The doctor said, "I told you to be careful, you've got a heart murmur."

This stanza of Psalm 119 finds the Psalmist offering some prudent advice on how to get a clean bill of health spiritually. It is measured, marked, and mastered by the Word of God. Good spiritual health can have an impact on good physical health.

The Psalmist gives 4 different pictures:

SOJOURNER - SOLDIER - SERVANT - SAINT

What a blessing to make a visit to the Great Physician and have him give us a clean bill of health. It would involve:

1) An INFORMED Life!

In most cases, when a doctors writes a prescription it is to improve one's medical condition. What good is the prescription if left unfilled, or if filled, but not taken?

We have the prescription of the Word of God that is given to improve our spiritual condition. The seed has power, but it must be sown.

A) OBEY it COMPLETELY (33)

"Unto the end"

Wonder if perhaps when he penned those words David had in mind King Saul. A man who started so BRILLIANTLY and ended so BADLY

Many begin like a bottle rocket and end like a shooting star.

Obedience will put us on a collision course with the blessings of God. Disobedience will bring us face to face with the judgment of God.

(Deut. 11:26-28) "Behold, I set before you this day a blessings and a curse. A blessing, if ye obey...a curse if ye will not obey."

Our LOVE for God is measured by our LOYALTY to God
