Text: Psalm 119:33-40

Man went for regular check-up. Based on his test results, the doctor gave him some prudent advice. Few weeks later, the doctor saw the man out running with a woman half his age. He said, "Doc, I'm doing what you told me. Be cheerful, and get a hot mama." The doctor said, "I told you to be careful, you've got a heart murmur."
This stanza of Psalm 119 finds the Psalmist offering some prudent advice on how to get a clean bill of health spiritually. It is measured, marked, and mastered by the Word of God. Good spiritual health can have an impact on good physical health.
The Psalmist gives 4 different pictures:
SOJOURNER - SOLDIER - SERVANT - SAINT

A) OBEY it COMPLETELY (33)
"Unto the end"
Wonder if perhaps when he penned those words David had in mind King Saul. A man who started so BRILLIANTLY and ended so BADLY
Eugene Peterson: "Many Christians lack a long obedience to Christ in the same direction."
Many begin like a bottle rocket and end like a shooting star.
Obedience will put us on a collision course with the blessings of God. Disobedience will bring us face to face with the judgment of God.
(Deut. 11:26-28) "Behold, I set before you this day a blessings and a curse. A blessing, if ye obey...a curse if ye will not obey."
Our LOVE for God is measured by our LOYALTY to God
B) OBSERVE it CONTINUALLY (34) ...
