How do we live equipped to live a life in Christ?
Let's be honest. Living In Christ day after day is not easy.
It is not easy...
To display a life of In Christ
To resist temptation
To Trust God through tough times
To Love your wife as Christ loved the Church
To submit
To confess when you are wrong
To repent and change your ways.
It is not easy because we tend to face today's battles w/ the wrong weapons...
We think Money might fix it
Our Personality can get us through it
Fighting for ourselves and pushing through
Slamming another so we look better
Gossip
Alcohol
The truth is.... We are not getting the results we want because we are not using the weapons we need.
Paul gives us at the end the weapons to use to stand firm in the battle we are in.
Eph 6:10-17
[NIV] 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Paul is taking us back to when Paul is talking about the Holy Spirit that lives in us... Eph 1:19-21 [NIV] That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Part of walking "In Christ" daily is walking in His strength daily.
Don't back down!!
Life will hit
Frustrations will come
Temptations will show up
Yet, 1 John 4:4 [NIV] You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world
So "Be STRONG"
