Babel. The very name conjures up an image of people trying to build a tower to God. In fact, this week I discovered that Babel means, "Gateway to God." Interesting. Babel known as "Babylon" and has always been a symbol for godlessness, immorality, idolatry, and paganism. .
- The Tower of Babel was simply mankind's first attempt to get to God on his own terms, but the effort has never stopped. I ask. "Ma'am or Sir, are you going to heaven?" "Preacher, I'm trying", that's salvation by works." "Preacher, I'm doing the best I can" that's the Babylonian way", trying to build your own tower, your own way to God in your own strength, by your own effort, and making your own rules. To be clear, "The Babylonian way is man's idea of walking the broad way and following the one who leads humanity to die with him or for him, while the Bible way is following the one who died for you.
- The Babylonian way haunts us, and we see it in Chapters 17 and 18.
- So look at the world. In Chapter 17. we find people on the earth are living in a wasteland, sores on their skin, water that's blood, major rivers dry, and the warning of creations sounding. The vials of God's final, undiluted, and full judgment has been unleashed. A ONE WORLD church and government has been put in place with a leader (hand-picked by Satan).

1. The Picture of Babylon - Vs 1-2 -One of the angels who had just come from the presence of God holding one of the vials of His judgment now becomes John's tour guide. He says, "I will show you."
