Title: How to Pray (3 of 5)
Series: Sync
Author: Steve Jones
Text: Matthew 6

SERMON SUMMARY: The Lord's Prayer is our template. Three ways to pray the Lord's prayer: 1) Classic. 2) Advanced. 3) Professional.

Introduction: October is "Pastor Appreciation Month." The elders are the "pastors" of the church.

I Peter 5:1-2 "To the elders among you...Shepherd God's flock. Watch over it."

All three New Testament words for "elder" are in those two verses and are used interchangeably throughout the Bible.

Elder - Presbyteros

Shepherd/pastor - Poimano

Overseer/Watch over - Episkopeo

The elders are to pray for the church.

James 5:14 "Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you."

For yours is the kingdom, and the power,

And the glory forever. Amen.
