Title: Your Walk (9)
Series: Ephesians
Author: Brian Mills
Text: Ephesians 5:1-20
This is our last week in our series called YOUR WALK
Eph 4:1-16
Walk Worthy
Walk in Unity
Walk in your service
Walk Maturely
Eph 4:17-24
Walk like new life
Walk with sensitivity toward sin
Eph 4:25-32
Walk away from Anger and towards Kindness
Now remember... these are not rules to be saved, they are instructions to the saved.
I said this 2 weeks ago.... Boundaries lead to Godliness
The spiritually mature resist the hatred of guidelines so they can live in the freedom of Christ.
God gave us guidelines not to add misery but to allow us to experience freedom.
God gave us guidelines not to put us in bondage but to keep us out of bondage.
Paul though is giving us ground rules for what it means to be IN Christ.
Now that you know who you are and you have surrendered your life to Christ...
What does it mean for you?
What are your guardrails?
What are your boundaries?
Paul gets very personal and very direct in giving those....
Yet if we lean into all these principles then we can learn to walk worthy
You know in my Marriage, my parenting, and my Job I want to be the best I can be
I read books
I listen to Podcast
I learn from those who have gone before me
I am a growing leader, growing husband, growing parent, and growing pastor
which means I am always learning and looking for new ways to learn.
It means I am receiving where I can grow and accept that I don't know it all and I want to adjust and change so I can be better
Paul is getting personal here so you can learn, adjust, change, and grow.
The question is - WILL YOU Hear it, Receive it, Accept it, and do something about it?
Not so I have a bunch of rules to follow but so I have live a worthy walk.
Now we end this series today with Eph 5:1-20 and we continue these guardrails...
