TEXT: Revelation 20:7-15 (ESV)
7 And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, (Remember, that they were identified in a previous sermon as the Nations North of Israel - the nations that make up the former Soviet Union) to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9 And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven and consumed them, 10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it.
The throne is described as GREAT. This speaks of it's ultimate power to rule and leverage judgements. This throne holds jurisdictions over all creation. The Supreme court of the land is humiliated before this throne. The high court Judges are nothing more than common felons before this throne. This throne radiates with the authority to destroy and to build up. To set free and to condemn. Hell itself lies in subjection to this throne. It is GREAT.
Not only is it described as GREAT, but it is also described as WHITE - This speaks of it's moral perfection, it's radical purity. It is unpolluted by human opinion, demonic argument, religious confusion. This throne is pure as God Himself.
