Today, I was reading some "stuff" on Facebook and saw a picture of an "Out-House" and the caption read, "How many of you used one of these?" We are now in 2023 and less than 60 years ago, this nation had a vast amount of people still using "Out-Houses."
Yet, we act as if life has always been this easy. I don't know about you, but I have so many reasons to be grateful!!!
One of my earliest memories is living in Ramhurst, which is just below my hometown of Chatsworth. Our house was located at the end of the road, upon a hill, with a big horse pasture beside it, and standing there right in the open was an "outhouse."
I hate going outside to that "outhouse" because seemingly every time we went to that little building, there were lizards in it. Can you fathom going outside when it is raining, snowing, or literally freezing and going to an old fashioned "outhouse?" Well, it was not that long ago, when that was the norm for many!!!
Yet, we act as if life has always been this easy. I don't know about you, but I have so many reasons to be grateful!!!
The little house that we lived in when I was a kid only had a total of six small rooms, with one small bathroom, with no bathtub or shower. I don't know about you, but most of us have forgotten how good we have it. Who could even fathom living like that, in a house with four small kids in elementary school?
