Scripture: Ephesians 3:21, Ephesians 4:1-6
Title: La Preservacion de la Unidad del Espiritu - The Preservation of the Unity of the Spirit
Author: Michael Romero
Text: Ephesians 3:21, Ephesians 4:1-6
Introduction:
It is an honor to be with you tonight to celebrate the work of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I want to begin by reading a passage of scripture with you that should be familiar to you from this mornings text.
Ephesians 3:21
"21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations [a]forever and ever. Amen."
"21 a …l sea la gloria en la iglesia y en Cristo Jes?s por todas las generaciones, por los siglos de los siglos. AmÈn."
It would be easy for us to think this was the big finish of Pauls prayer at the end of chapter 3 of Ephesians. However, that was only the prayer of Paul for the church.
Paul did not leave it there. After writing down this incredible God honoring and glorifying prayer that began in verse 14 of chapter 3 Paul continues into chapter 4 to describe the way God should receive His glory in the church.
Lets read Ephesians chapter 4, verses 1-6.
4:1-6
4 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
4 Yo, pues, prisionero del[a] SeÒor, os ruego que viv·is[b] de una manera digna de la vocaciÛn con que habÈis sido llamados,
Paul is not talking just about the individual call of the believer but of the call of the church!
Did you know that Paul was addressing each and every believer in the church of Ephesus? Not only the individual but the whole church!
He IMPLORES the church to "walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which they were called." - V4:1
Then Paul describes the way the church and all of its members should walk...
2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
2 con toda humildad y mansedumbre, con pacie ...
