Scripture: Isaiah 48:11, Psalm 29:3-9
Title: A El Sea La Gloria En La Iglesia - The Glory of God in the Church
Author: Michel Romero
Text: Isaiah 48:11, Psalms 29:3-9
Introduction:
Good morning church! Let's pray and begin to open our hearts and minds to what God would say to us, His church, today.
[Prayer]
In praying about the message God would have for us today I kept hearing from God about His glory.
There were three sentences that I kept hearing God say over and over again. Tell the people...
1. A El Sea La Gloria!
2. A El Sea La Gloria!!
3. A El Sea La Gloria!!!
I want us to discover this morning what that may mean for us as Gods people.
First, I want to start with, what is the glory of God?
I. La Gloria de Dios (The Glory of God)
The definition of GLORY = Weight, or Heaviness (Pesa, o que tan pesado algo es)
Gods glory is how we measure the weightiness of God (como medimos la pesa de Dios)
//Cuando encontramos alguien que sabe hacer algo muy bien or is inteligente, talentuoso, or fuerte. Como decimos?
Que PESADO!//
Tony Evans describes it this way,
"Gods glory is unique because it is intrinsic (intrÌnseco). Which means it is...
- Self defined (Auto Definido)
- Self initiated (Autoiniciado)
- Self expressed." (Autoexpresionado)"
Another words, God does not need anything to MAKE him glorious. He is already IS glorious.
Not only is He glorious... He is glorious in ALL Things!
You and I are not that glorious. We might have some glory. That glory does not arrive with us when we were born. It is gained over time.
You and I may achieve some things in life. We started off life without knowing how to form words and speak. Eventually we were able to speak and write and form our own thoughts.
Those thoughts turned into a career or job or were used in parenting or other goals we have.
Eventually we became good at only a couple things.
In contrast, God is glorious in ALL things.
- His Love is Glorious
- His Merc ...
