Now - Solomon wars us about what our values in life should really be.
Objective - I want people to value what God values.

I) BE AUTHENTIC IN WORSHIP-

Solomon has visited almost every area of life. Now he pays special attention to the arena of worship. He must have thought about worship in the great temple that he has supervised the building of. He thought about the worshippers who came and went. He realized that many of them were not sincere in their worship.

A) BE CAREFUL HOW YOU APPROACH GOD -

Watch your step - Be reverent. Fear God. Do not take worship lightly.

"The worship of God is the highest ministry of the church and must come from devoted hearts and yielded wills." Wiersbe.

B) BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU OFFER TO GOD -

We don't offer the same types of sacrifices today. But we do offer up spiritual sacrifices as priests of God. Romans 12:1-2

Be a listener - be ready to obey the Word of God.

A sacrifice of fools - is the worship of one of thinks he can live Mon - Sat in disobedience and then worship God rightly on Sunday.

ILLUS: Saul offered up the sacrifice of a fool in I Sam. 15:12-13

C) BE CAREFUL HOW YOU TALK TO GOD -

If you and I were to be invited to the White House or the Senate to make a request, we would not do so rashly. We would think about what we wanted to say, how to ask it, an then carefully write it out.
But yet, we often rush into the presence of almighty God without any forethought of who we are talking to and what we are going to say.

Don't be guilty of hasty words or too many words - Matthew 6:33-37

D) BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU VOW TO GOD -

Don't make foolish vows - Lord if you just get me out of this I will . . . .

"Don't let your mouth make a total sinner our you. When called to account you won't get by with,

'Sorry, I didn't mean it.'
