Death is an inevitable appointment!
Heb 9:27
27 ...it is appointed unto men once to die...(KJV)
There is a time appointed.
Ps 139:16
16 All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (NIV)
Eccl 3:1-2
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die...(NIV)
God in His grace has kept the time and details from all of us!
But God knows the day and the hour.
The appointment catches us by surprise, but not Him.
To God the death of His saints is precious.
The death of His saints is different.
Why does He call it precious.
I. It is a final statement of Faith!
The death of the righteous is a death of faith.
Rom 8:23-25
23 "...we...who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.(NIV)
The believer enters death with the same faith that they lived life.
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not yet seen."
Hebrews 11 is the hall of fame of all those who have died in faith.
