Paul Harvey. How many know the name Paul Harvey? Paul Harvey was a radio broadcaster for over 50 years. He's in the Broadcasting Hall of Fame. He had a very unique voice. He would share news and commentary typically at noon, and people would listen on radio stations all over the country. And he had a program that he began in 1976 entitled, "The Rest of the Story." I listened to one this morning, and it was about a kid named Skinny and his dog, and he was at a firehouse, and he tells the story about Skinny getting beat up, and then one of the fire guys taught him how to fight, and they changed Skinny's name to Duke. And he said Skinny was John Wayne. And he would tell these stories, and at the end he would always say, "And now you know the rest of the story." You can listen to those on YouTube. They're very interesting. But Paul Harvey died in 2009, a tremendous Christian, and he is known for his rhetoric and the way he communicated, and he is known for that phrase, "And now you know the rest of the story."
Well, we want to talk today about the rest of the story, because many of us in the Christan life, we forget the rest of the story. We forget what God is doing. We forget what is coming in the future.
Now, we're in a series on Romans chapter 8, "More Than Conquerors," from verse 37. And today, we want to look at the most famous verse in one of the most famous verses in all of the Bible, Romans 8:28. Romans is the book of the Bible that stands above the rest, and chapter 8 is the chapter that stands above the rest in Romans, and Romans 8:28 is like scaling to the top of Mount Everest. I like what one man said. He said, "If the Bible were a ring and Romans its precious stone, chapter 8 would be the sparkling point of the jewel."
