Text: Romans 8:4-13

If you have your Bible, please turn to Romans chapter 8. We began a new series, in the Book of Romans, Romans chapter 8, last week. And, hopefully, in six weeks, we're going to go through this wonderful chapter. You know, Romans is considered by many to be the greatest Book in the Bible because of the way it deals with salvation so in-depth. And chapter 8 is considered to be the greatest chapter of the greatest book of the Bible. And so, I would like to issue a challenge to all of us, and that is the Romans 8 challenge, to memorize Romans chapter 8. Now, Romans chapter 8 is thirty-nine verses, so that can seem like a lot. Romans 8 is not easily worded, so it's a little bit of a challenge. But God will bless as we take that challenge, the Romans 8 challenge. Now listen! If you can't do all thirty-nine, then we have on the website, thirteen key verses in Romans chapter 8. We'd love for you to take part in that. And regardless, God will bless as we spend time in His Word, meditating on His Word and hiding it in our hearts.

Well, today, I want to speak to you on a message I've entitled, "The Flesh, The Spirit, and the Christian." Galatians chapter 5 says, "For I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh, for the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. ...
