Well, if you have your Bible, please turn to Romans chapter 8. For the next six weeks, we're going to be in this wonderful chapter. The Book of Romans has been called the greatest book in the New Testament. And chapter 8 has been called the greatest chapter in the greatest book in the New Testament. As one man put it, "If Scripture was a ring and the epistle to the Romans it's precious stone, chapter 8 would be the sparkling point of the jewel."

Now, Paul, in starting in Romans 8, gives us a verdict. You know, we like to follow court cases. And people are interested in court cases. We follow them live, you know, the things that really happen, and then we follow them in fiction. We like courtroom drama. There's just something about us that likes those. And if you notice, we've had lots of shows, television shows, lots of movies that are courtroom dramas. How many in here watched "Perry Mason" maybe growing up? Perry Mason never lost a case, and it would always be in the courtroom. And you've had shows like "Perry Mason." You've had shows like "Matlock" with Andy Griffith. You've had "LA Law" that was so popular. You had "Boston Legal" that was kind of a spoof of the courtroom scene. "A Few Good Men" with Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson, and they're in the courtroom, and that's the kind of the climax scene. We like those kinds of shows. And it's kind of interesting. You may have seen this. This has been around a while. But sometimes in the court of law things can get a little humorous. And, you know, right or wrong, attorneys kind of get a bad rap because of some of the things they say and do.

Here was an attorney that was interviewing on the witness stand a doctor. The attorney says, "Doctor, before you perform the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?"

"No!"

He said, "Did you check for blood ...
