Introduction

A. 1621 the spanish galleon, ''the atocia'' sank off the cost of key west, florida. For over 350 years this ship with its cargo of gold, silver bars, and artifacts lay on the ocean floor. Although many had searched for it none had found it. In the mid 80's an adventurer named mel fisher set out to locate the attocia. The 15 year journey was costly, frustrating, tragic at times and seemingly impossible. But fisher refused to give up. His motto was ''today is the day.'' mel fisher found the attocia with over $400 million in treasures.

B. There is a greater treasure out there. This treasure is people who god loves, jesus died for, and we have the privilege of searching out for christ.

C. When located and brought to christ the profits are eternal in their lives and ours.

d. As we focus on the worth of our witness i want you to notice the kinds of people christ changes by his power.

1. These folks are represented by one man's life.

2. This man is simon peter.

E. There is more said of simon than any other disciple of christ and he said more than any other.

1. Peter was the kind of guy you would like.

2. He was boistrous and talkative and, i believe fun loving

3. He was impulsive. When he succeeded it was big. When he failed it was big as well.

F. Simon represents people here today and people that were brought to christ at starlight.

I. The winnable. John 1:41,42

A. Andrew did what many of you did this past week.

1. He brought peter to jesus and jesus to peter.

2. He felt peter was winnable.

3. Who do you know that's winnable?

B. Jesus sees you for what you are.

1. He ''looked at him...''

2. The word means he looked beneath the surface.
