I. Introduction

A. Of all the questions i am asked the number 1 question is, ''how can i know god's will for my life?''

B. When you love god you will love his will.

1. You want what he wants.

2. His will for your life is more important than your will.

C. The bible says we can know god's will

1. Proverbs 3: 1-6

2. God's will is not hidden; it is revealed to those who desire it.

D. Today, i want to share with you ten commandments for knowing the will of god.

Ii. Accept the fact god has a plan for your life.

a. Your life is no accident.

B. There are many proofs god has a plan for your life.

1. God created you in his image.

2. He loves you.

3. Jesus, his son, died for your sins.

C. He has promised to show us the way.

1. God doesn't want us to stumble through life with no direction.

2. The bible says, through christ, we are god's children.

3. What parent gets joy out of seeing a child wander through life with no direction?

Iii. Search for his will in his word.

A. God has a written will for our lives. It's called the bible.

B. God's will never contradicts his word.

C. One of the dangers of cult movements in america today is what is called ''continuing revelation.''

1. In other words what the bible says is not the final word.

2. Leaders of major cult movements will tell you god is continuing to write his word and will through them.

3. It was this kind of lie that led thousands of women into prostitution as members of the ''children of god'' cult that was so prevalent in the 70's and 80's.

4. It is this kind of lie that leads children to abandon their parents and friends for these groups today.

Iv. Avoid taking bible verses out of context.

A. It is possible to make the bible say what we want to hear. ...
