SERIES: “A GOOD ATTITUDE..”

SUBJECT: KINDNESS

I. INTRODUCTION

A. “PSYCHIATRIST TELL US WE GET OUR
SELF WORTH FROM LOOKING THROUGH
THE EYES OF THE PERSON WE MOST LOVE
AND MOST VALUE.”

1. IF THE PERSON THAT WE LOVE AND
VALUE HIGHLY LOVES US THEN OUR
WORTH BEGINS TO GROW.

2. IF HE OR SHE DOESN’T LOVE US AS
WE LOVE THEM, THEN OUR WORTH
BEGINS TO DIMINISH.

B. WITH THAT IN MIND THERE ARE A
COUPLE THINGS WE NEED TO HEAR
TODAY.

1. WE NEED TO LEARN TO LOOK AT
OURSELVES THROUGH THE EYES OF
GOD, WHO LOVES US WITH A
PERFECT LOVE.

2. WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND HOW

C. LEARNING TO BE KINDER TO PEOPLE CAN

II. THE GREATEST EXAMPLE OF KINDNESS WE

1-4.

A. ONE OF THE MOST MOVING PICTURES OF
KINDNESS I HAVE SEEN IS THE STORY OF
JESUS DEALING WITH A MAN WHO HAD A
HORRIBLE SKIN DISEASE.

1. THIS DISEASE LITERALLY REMOVED
THE MAN FROM THE REST OF
SOCIETY.

2. ONCE LEPROSY WAS DISCOVERED
THE INFECTED PERSON WAS
REQUIRED TO APPEAR BEFORE THE
PRIEST. HE WOULD THEN BE
PRONOUNCED UNCLEAN.

3. ONCE PRONOUNCED UNCLEAN NO
ONE WAS ALLOWED TO COME INTO
PHYSICAL CONTACT THE WITH THE
DISEASED INDIVIDUAL.

4. MAX LUCADO “FOR FIVE YEARS NO
ONE TOUCHED ME. NO ONE. NOT
ONE PERSON. NOT MY WIFE. NOT
MY CHILD. NOT MY FRIENDS...THEY
