I. INTRODUCTION

A. LONELINESS IS ONE OF THE PRIMARY
CAUSES OF SUFFERING IN THE WORLD
TODAY.

1. “PSYCHIATRISTS SPEAK ABOUT IT AS
THE MOST FREQUENTLY EXPRESSED
COMPLAINTS, AND THE ROOT OF NOT
ONLY SUICIDE BUT ALCOHOLISM,
DRUG USE, AND OTHER MAJOR
PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL
PROBLEMS FACING MAN TODAY.”

2. RICK WARREN, PASTOR OF
SADDLEBACK COMMUNITY CHURCH,

NUMBER OF PEOPLE AROUND YOU
THAT DETERMINES YOUR
LONELINESS; IT’S YOUR
RELATIONSHIP TO THEM.”

3. CAN YOU BE WEALTHY AND LONELY?
ASK SOMEONE WHO KNEW HOWARD

1. HIS STORY IS FOUND IN MATTHEW 8:1-
