Text: Revelation 10:1-11

- Jesus Christ came to Earth to show us the Father, by showing us:

- the Father's Love which is unconditional,

- the Father's Grace by granting forgiveness to us sinners,

- the Father's mercy by not condemning those actions merited judgment,

- the Father's patience by extending the Father's love, grace, and mercy to all who call on His name. Jesus was God's gift to us and for us.

- At the same time, Genesis 6:3 tells us that God will not always strive (abide, plead, contend, or put up) with man. What does that mean? One day God's patience will run out.

- It happened in Genesis 6 and brought the flood, at Sodom which brought the fire, several times to the exiles as God sent disease, snakes, and even opened up the earth to swallow up the household of Korah's people.

- God is loving and longsuffering, but His patience has limits.

- The story of God's final judgment begins with the rapture, that time when God's people are caught up with Him in the clouds (1 Th 4:17, Rev 4:1). Immediately, the world is in turmoil, chaos, and anarchy. As we have seen, this begins God's plan of judgment systematically unfolding.

- In Revelation 10 we see the condition on earth have become sad and scary. The scroll, the Lord's title deed to earth, has now been opened. Each seal brought about judgment on and to earth. Now, seven angel are given trumpet to sound. We have heard 6 of the 7 trumpets sound, and with each trumpet, more of God's judgment falls. One-half of a who were left on the earth, after the rapture, lie dead at the hand of the Anti-Christ, starvation, sickness, or the massive army found in chapter 9. Quite likely, on Earth there has not been enough time or resources to deal with death of this magnitude, so the stench and unhealthy conditions pervade all the earth.
