Introduction

A. Take a moment and list your ten top Fears.

1. Somewhere near the top the Fear of failure would be listed For most of us.

2. We fear failing in many areas of Importance to us: career, Relationships, endeavors, Adventures, etc.

B. Without fail all of us have missed the Mark of meeting our own or the Expectations of others. (perhaps in School, marriage, business, or Athletics.

C. Assuming the only way to succeed is Never to fail at anything we feel we Have to be perfect in everything.

D. No one can live up to perfection. The Key is learning failing doesn't make One a failure.

E. The bible gives many stories where People failed in their lives.

1. We learn from the scripture That failure can become a Stepping stone to success.

2. An incident in peter's life Illustrates this. Look in luke 5:1- 11 to see this truth.

Ill. Peter and his friends had been Fishing all night, but they had Caught nothing. He was a Professional. He probably had The best nets, a good boat, and He knew exactly where to catch Most fish. But this time peter Came up short.

The next day the disciples were On the shore feeling Discouraged. Enter jesus!

The interesting part of the Story is the comparison between The two catches. The disciples Had worked all night and Caught nothing. Later they Went out for 10 minutes and Caught more fish than ever Before. It was the same lake, Same nets, same boat, and same People fishing.

F. The difference between the two Expeditions provides the foundation For the message today.

G. Before you can understand the Principles you must understand god's Interest in you. God is interested in Your success.

Ill. Suppose one of your children came to You and said, ''i'm a failure. Nothing i Touch turns out right. My problems Are too much for me. I am a total Failure, and there's no hope for me.'' Would you respond b ...
