1. My mind and mouth switch to Autopilot during hymns and Praise choruses.
2. I can barely remember the last Time god answered a specific Prayer.
3. I feel guilty when i hear Someone telling what they Learned in a quiet moment with God.
4. I wonder where my joy went in Serving god.
5. I read my bible and pray Because i should, not because i Want to.
6. I find myself critiquing the Church service rather than Benefitting from it.
7. Smiling happy christians get on My nerves.
8. It's been a long time since i have Been moved spiritually.
9. I look for ways to be less Committed to the body of Christ.
10. I seldom ask, ''what would jesus Do?''
B. We can be as close to god as we Desire.
1. It is god's wish that our Relationship be a close and Personal one.
2. If there is no closeness the Fault is ours not god's.
C. In psalms 66 david describes what it Is like to be close to god.

In order to develop a closeness With god we need to:
I. Know god personally.
A. It is impossible to have a Relationship with a person you don't Know.
1. Knowing about god isn't the Same as knowing god.
2. Ill. People who have been Separated at birth only To rediscover each other Years later. The reunion Is joyful. Before that Time they can only imagine What it would be like to Know the person and have A relationship. That's the Way it is with god. We Were separated at birth. Some have spent years Searching for him and Don't even know it.
3. The search ends at the cross.
B. Our sin nature causes us to:
1. Disobey god.
2. To distance ourselves from God.
C. The cross takes care of the sin Nature.
