Introduction

A. When one desires to be successful in An area where does he or she look?

1. I look for a successful model.

2. Illustration: church growth.

3. There is much we can learn from Others who are successful.

B. When one wants success as a family Where does he look?

1. You look at other successful Families.

2. My own family has been a Wonderful example. So has my Wife's family.

C. There is one family that stands out in History all can look to. It is the Family of jesus.

D. Jesus' family is history's best known Family.

1. They are featured on greeting Cards, in window displays, in Christmas carols, and in Nativity scenes across the World.

2. What accounts for their place In history?

3. It's not wealth, education, or Social position that accounts For their place of prominence in History.

4. Mary and joseph were poor, Unlearned people with nothing To distinguish them from any Other common israelite family.

E. This family forms a beautiful Portrait of a godly home.

F. This family is a great example for all Of us.

Ii. Joseph: the committed father teaches Men some valuable lessons.

A. He teaches us lessons in sensitivity And compassion.

1. Matthew 1:19 ''then joseph a just Man, and not wanting to make Her a public example was minded To put her away privately.''

2. Although jewish law allowed Him to make a public example of Mary he was unwilling to do That.

3. Men, we need to learn how to Balance law and grace.

B. He teaches us lessons about an open Heart.

1. Joseph was a man who listened To the voice of god.

2. The scripture tells us three Different times the lord spoke To joseph.

3. God does not entrust the Secrets of his heart to those Unwilling to hear.

4. Men, to whose voice do we listen Today? Cultures, peers, or God's?

C. He teaches us lessons in obedience.

1. In every instant his obedience ...
