We all long to be Known
Known by our family
Known by Friends
Known by co-workers
Known on social media
All of our greatest insecurities are, that we walk in a room where everyone knows everyone, and we know no one, and no one speaks to us.
Like when you were going into 6th grade or 9th grade. Walking into the Cafeteria and hoping your friends had the same lunch.
Going to college knowing no one.
Out of our desire to be KNOWN, we are willing to do a lot of foolish things just to prove ourselves.
Drink more than we should
Do something we never thought we would be accepted at work
Sacrifice our family for work so people will shout our name.
Everyone wants to be KNOWN and we tend to chase after being KNOWN the world's way over the Word's way.
That is where I love the 1st part of Ephesians.
Ephesians 1 is all about being KNOWN and letting you know you are KNOWN and you Do matter through the Words' way, not the World's way.
So I am fired up for this series through this collection of Sermons in Eph 1.
Now let me catch you up on Paul here.
Paul had already visited Ephesus 2x's before pinning this letter.
Once on his 2nd Missionary Journey then again on his 3rd.
We believe when he is pinning this letter it is after he left Corinth (where he pinned Romans) and went back to Jerusalem (remember we just talked about that) during that season Acts 21 tells us he was thrown into jail and transferred to Rome)
He was in Prison in Rome for 2 years and many believe this is when he pinned Ephesians.
