No Longer There

One of my childhood memories was growing up on the corner North 4th & Oak Street. The house was green, with this odd slate like siding. The thing about this house was that it was not very big, with two small bedrooms, along with a small open room, which held a very small bed.

This house did not even have a shower or a bathtub, which is beyond comprehension, since a family of six lived there, and eight if my dad's half-brother was home. He went right to Vietnam straight out of high school and lived with us, due to his parents being deceased.

This house was on the north end of our little town and there were others kids play with in any direction you turned. We were always playing ball, regardless of the type, whether softball, baseball, basketball, or football, you could find us playing some sort of ball

The house was actually moved many years ago and the farm supply store that was across the street, bought the empty lot.

I often ride by that place, remembering the great times that I had growing up on that corner lot, but the house is no longer there, it is gone!!!
