Title: Romans 16 (2)
Author: Brian Mills
Text: Romans 16
I originally wanted to be done w/. Romans by this Sunday but I thought last time I was preaching. I am just going to live in Romans 16:1-16 and lets look at the names of people that meant a lot to Paul.
I hope you were able to send a note to your boosters. The one who have supported you at some point in your life or one who won you to Jesus and encourage them.
If not jump on that and say thank you and send a word of encouragement. You might be their booster in this season of life.
Today lets finish Romans 16.
The last challenge from Paul is here in Romans 16:17-27....
Remember this is a letter written by Paul (actually probably spoke by Paul to Tertius who pinned the letter) then delivered by Phoebe to the Roman churches.
So when the church gets to the end of reading this I can see them leaning in to hear what the end says...
LAST OF SOMETHING....
SHOW A PICTURE OF EACH ONE...
End of the Declaration of Independence: The first people to hear the words of the Declaration were the common people standing out on Chestnut Street on July 4, 1776
Or how about the start of the protestant movement by Martin Luther who nailed his 95 thesis onto the Castle Church (Schlosskirche) in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517. As they read it the lean in all the way to the end.
How about August 28, 1963.When Martin Luther King stood up and spoke his I have a dream speech....
In 1783 when our first President George Washington resigned as the commander of the Continental Army so that America could be built on the union of the people not on a man.
When you get to the end of a speech you are learning in.. If the speech has compelled you.
This letter would have compelled the Roman church.
They would be longing for more..
So lets lean in w/ the Roman Church....
Romans 16: 17 And now I make one more appeal, ONE MORE THING I WANT TO SAY TO YOU
